Oppositelock is now just a regular forum, since you can only see the post title, poster, and number of comments. All it’s missing is who posted in the comment thread last and we’re back to 2009, baby!

2009? I remember the eye-searingly awful layouts of old vBulletin forums all the way back in the early 2000s when any bewildered teenager with a couple of bucks and a dream could make their own forum dedicated to whatever they wanted.
....The internet was, and remains, a mistake.

In 2009, I was using phpbb based forums and putting tags into the text of my posts to do quotes and embed files.
This still seems an improvement. I j us t don’t understand why they keep jacking with everything. Not the problems, but everything .
Stability should take priority over all.

If I understand correctly, mods can rest ore the excerpt/preview by embiggening posts . Of course I don’t expect them to embiggen everything, but we can still make this format work via selective embiggening.
Until recently, the main blogs t ook advantage of this by embiggening th e main posts, and leaving the D eals links alone. The D eals links are back to showing excerpts now, but it’s nice that the thumbnails are small, at least.
L ikewise, we could do the same here, by embiggening “worthy” posts, and leaving shitposts fun-sized. I’d be okay with that.
